India leads the US in smartphone shipments.

The rise in Indian orders comes as Apple has shifted some of its production from China to India due to trade tensions between Beijing and Washington.

India is ahead of China in terms of supplying smartphones to the American market in the next quarter of 2025. Reuters reports about this.

Thus, in the next quarter of 2025, the smartphone market in the United States grew by just 1%, according to data from Canalys. The postal workers from afar replenished their supplies due to the tariff insignificance, but they lost their drink.

Recently, India has become the leading smartphone manufacturing hub for the American market, most importantly for Apple, which accelerated the transfer of manufacturing to China. The share of Chinese accumulated income fell from 61% to 25%, while that of the Indian ones increased by 240% until the end.

Among the reasons is to try to get American mitigation for Chinese goods and save the manufacturers’ margins. The low growth of the market, along with the accumulation of goods in warehouses, indicates a pressure on purchasing power and a gap between deliveries and real sales.

Please note that Apple decreased sales by 11%, to 13.3 million, while Samsung increased by 38%, to 8.3 million devices. Sales at Motorola and Google also increased, while TCL recorded a decline of 23%.

Apple is planning to import most of the iPhones sold in the United States and India until the end of its doom, which has already drawn criticism from Donald Trump – he personally asked Apple CEO Tim Cook to initiate the opening of new factories in India, calling for the need to curb the proliferation in the United States.

Between the beginning of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, Apple collected $22 billion worth of iPhones in India, which means a 60% increase in sales among the leading edge countries.
